Our Treatments
Check-Ups
Nothing is more important than routine examinations and preventive medicine for your pet. Your pet ages at a faster rate than we do, approximately 5 to 7 years for each calendar year, depending on species and breed. This means that medical conditions can come on relatively quickly, hence the need for thorough physicals each yearor every six months for our senior pets. During the wellness examination, our doctor checks your pet from the tips of their ears to the tip of their tail – examining the eyes, ears, teeth, listening to the heart and lungs. Feeling for any unusual lumps, and testing the joints and muscles for arthritis and swelling. Vaccinations, and annual heartworm and internal parasite testing, rounds out our annual visit. Brookfield Veterinary Hospital bases vaccination protocol on the patient’s individual needs and exposures. Common indicators of disease are changes in behavior, weight, thirst, appetite, energy levels, breathing, and stool character. Together using a comprehensive exam with your pet’s history, we can provide complete care and treatment that will keep your pet happy and healthy.
Vaccinations
Is your pet protected against life threatening diseases? Vaccination is a critically important aspect of preventative veterinary medicine focused on keeping your pet healthy and happy. Contagious diseases are present within our pet population. Many of these diseases are life threatening not only to your pet, but to humans as well. The single best way to protect our pets and ourselves is through vaccination.
Surgery
We offer a full range of surgical procedures including spay/neuter, abdominal surgeries, feline declaws, lump/mass removals, eyelid repairs, gastropexy, emergency procedures and oral surgeries. Before, during, and after surgery, your pet is continuously monitored by Dr. Bhatti and certified veterinary technicians to ensure he or she is responding appropriately to the anesthesia, other medications, and the surgery itself. When it is time for your pet to go home, we will address any questions or concerns you may have about surgery, including the effects of anesthesia, pain management, and post-operative care.
